With her chemotherapy finished, Stevie is keen to ease herself back into work. As a side effect of her treatment, she suffers from tingling in her hands, but she is determined to keep this pain to herself.

On Stevie’s first morning back in the ED, she is welcomed back by Flynn – and thrown straight in at the deep end. The department is in chaos, with huge numbers of overdose patients stretching the team to their limits. Flynn believes that the patients have taken heroin which has been laced with dangerous opioids.
