A new trailer has been released for Bruce Springsteen biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere — and it gives us our first look at Stephen Graham in the film.

Adolescence, Line of Duty, and Venom: The Last Dance star Graham plays Bruce’s dad Douglas, also known as Dutch.

His appearances in the trailer are brief, though we see him in a flashback with young Bruce as well as drinking at a bar in the film’s present day as his son approaches him for a, likely tense, reunion.

The film itself focuses on how the singer, having achieved success and on the cusp of becoming a timeless global megastar, recorded the dark and intensely personal album Nebraska, about his upbringing and tough life of a blue-collar worker.

The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White plays The Boss himself, while Cruella‘s Paul Walter Houser plays his recording engineer Mike Batlan, who works with him in a hotel room to create an intimate and purposefully imperfect sound.

Succession‘s Jeremy Strong plays Springsteen’s manager and producer Jon Landau, who pitches the record and the singer (and the film itself) through voiceover.

He says Nebraska isn’t about commercial success, but the perfect example of how Bruce is a ‘repair man’ who brings people joy and comfort through how he filters his life experiences through music.

With this album, Jon says, Springsteen “is gonna repair the entire world”.

The trailer also includes a few glimpses of the singer’s romance with Faye, played by Odessa Young, and ends with Allen White’s rendition of the classic ‘Born to Run’, performed in front of a large crowd.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere will be released in UK and US cinemas on October 24.
