Sean Bean‘s new British crime comedy movie Deep Cover has become available to watch at home.
The film focuses on three improv actors in London who are recruited by the police to infiltrate a criminal gang, and also features Bean’s Lord of the Rings co-star Orlando Bloom, Jurassic World‘s Bryce Dallas Howard and Ted Lasso‘s Nick Mohammed.
Prime Video viewers can now catch the movie for free, with Deep Cover released on the streaming platform from today.
The film has so far received a largely positive reception from critics, with Empire saying it “delivers strong characterisation, a twisty crime story, and great performances”.
Digital Mafia Talkies suggested the film is “worth a watch purely for its hugely talented cast” – which also includes Paddy Considine and Ian McShane – while Flick Feast called it a “fun crowdpleaser that will appeal to fans of modern British comedy with Bloom being a standout delight”.

“Snappy and entertaining with a strong cast that boasts superb comedic timing, Deep Cover is a fun, if safe, easy watch that’s fit for the streaming age,” added Nerdspin.
Speaking recently to Digital Spy about the movie, Bloom shared he relished the chance to play the role of an actor who takes himself “very seriously”.
“It is so good,” he said. “Taking yourself too seriously is something [that’s] so easy to do – [I’ve] probably done it myself in the past. I loved the idea of getting involved because all I had to do was play it deadly serious.”

“[I] imagined myself coming out of drama school and being depressed at not getting to do anything for my career and dreaming of a [better] life.”
He added: “It reminded me of how lucky we are to do what we do. But yeah, it is low hanging fruit. I felt the torture of an actor out of work [while] desperately wanting to be in work – but we all had that.”
Deep Cover is available to stream now on Prime Video.
